Dale McCormick grew up in southwestern Minnesota, during that magical era when TV and movie directors romanticized the Wild-West. It was also that transitional time when cinematography changed from black & white... to color.
In his early 20's Dale purchased his first 35mm camera and began his move west, traveling through and working in areas such as; the Black Hills of South Dakota, Bitterroot Mountains of Montana, Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming, and the Central Coast Range of California.
It was there where his fascination with the life of the American cowboy evolved; photographing images at the local rodeos, roundups, ranch brandings, and vaquero heritage festivals.
Dale’s passion for capturing the culture and lifestyle of today’s American Cowboy has brought him to the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies. His ability to rope and ride has gained him the respect of the hard working cowboys and ranchers that he photographs. It’s that acceptance that has opened invitations to ranching and equine events wherever he travels.
Now living in Evergreen Colorado, he continues his quest to photograph the workings of today’s American western legends.
